I have to admit at the outset that I am a recent convert to the ranks of online players of MTG. I resisted for a good many years for a good many reasons. For one thing I didn’t want to split my limited budget for gaming between the paper version and the online version, I didn’t want to get caught up in countless hours on an online game, and I wasn’t sure that I would even like it. A month in it’s a decision that I’m glad I made and if you’re sitting on the fence like I was then this post is for you.

What's Missing From MTG Online? The Middle!
A few weeks ago I finally broke down and decided to give MTG Online a try and overall I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised. There is something vital missing, though, and I think its inclusion into the game would be a boon to many casual players.

Is This Cheating? Some Help Here Please
So I'm cruising the MTG related blogs the other day and I come across this article on Taw's Blog titled How To Cheat In Casual Magic. Now I am by no means a cheater, but the blatant way he just put it out there had me fascinated, so I checked it out. What I found was a little mind boggling. Not only is the cheat possibly not a cheat, but it seems that everybody else in the world already knew about it. So now I find myself in a quandry wondering whether this is cheating, or just smart play.

The Nerd Block Is Here!
Here's my first set of original cards. Hopefully we all have a sense of humor about ourselves. Remember these are intended in good fun, so let's not get too upset. Without further ado, the first five cards of the Nerd Block.
But It Looked So Good On Paper!
How many times has this happened to you? A new set comes out and there’s a card in it that is beyond cool, beyond remarkable, beyond awesome, it has actually transcended to remarcoolsome. You barely even read the card, its very essence is already causing neurons in your brain to fire off like you just downed a crystal meth cocktail with a crack chaser. At that moment you’re not really thinking about whether the card is feasible to play, all you can see is just how freaking remacoolsome it is.

What I Love/Hate About MTG
Anybody who plays the game knows that it can be intense good fun, but also that it can be frustrating enough to make you go on a workplace shooting rampage. I was thinking about that strange dichotomy the other night
